The Quiet Fixer

Lena Baranov teaches piano to the children of Brighton Beach, and she has never asked what her father did before he died. Then Anton Reznik walks into her studio to collect his nephew. She knows the face. It is the man who stood at the back of her father's funeral and left before the burial. Anton is the pakhan's fixer. He has spent thirty years making sure nobody asks him questions, and he should walk out of that room and never come back. Instead he books three lessons a week under a false name. Over eleven weeks Lena understands two things: Anton has never learned to play anything, and the only reason he is sitting at her piano is to keep her close enough to protect. When an old rival finally asks her the right question, Anton answers it himself. This is a forbidden love, age gap bratva romance about what a man does with thirty years of guilt. He does not get forgiven. He gets a recital.
