The Omega He Rejected

Lila Hart spent two years as the quietest omega in Greywater. One night, after a midsummer run, the Alpha's heir noticed her. The bond fired on her side before dawn. By dusk he had rejected her in front of his mother, his council, and his betrothed. Lila left that night with nothing but a name she would never use again. Six years later she runs a clinic in a fishing town three hundred miles away and raises a son who has his father's eyes. When a blight wipes out the coast's supplies, the emergency run is sent from Greywater. The driver who arrives is Jonah Bright. He goes very still at the doorway. He does not presume. He does not demand. He asks for time. She gives him a week. Then another. He will have to earn more than her forgiveness — he will have to earn his son's name.
