The Moon of Nine Lakes

Ines Vale was raised on a lighthouse and told never to swim after dark. When her grandmother dies, she is sent inland to Nine Lakes Academy — the boarding school where lakeside families send their marked children to be finished. Ines is unmarked, unwanted, and too late. Three students pull her out of the shallow water. A bear shifter whose family owns half the shoreline. A selkie-blooded musician whose mother vanished the same winter as Ines's parents. A fire-touched boy nobody can classify. Each of them wants her kept away from the lakes. Each of them has a reason. On the night of the Moon Assembly, Ines goes into the water anyway — and finds out what her grandmother spent a lifetime hiding. The academy leases its magic from the Nine Lakes. The lease is almost up. The lakes have started taking. A first-in-series reverse harem shifter academy novel, quietly told and full of teeth.
