The Manager Who Watched

Priya Anand reads spreadsheets the way other people read faces. When a client dies in a skiing accident and his widow wants twelve years of records, every partner at Halliday & Sons says hand them over. Except Rowan Halliday, forty-five, austere, and the son of the firm's dead founder. Priya is the analyst assigned to reconstruct the file. What she finds is a trail of redirected money that leads not to the dead client but to Rowan's own father. She should take it to Duncan, the senior partner. She takes it to Rowan instead. Six weeks of archives, late nights, and one flat on the Water of Leith turn colleagues into something that doesn't have a job title. A standalone age gap boss romance with a slow-burn mystery spine, set in Edinburgh, about two people who choose the truth and each other.
