The Lake House on Thornmere

Every August of Liv Voss's childhood was spent on Thornmere, in a lake house shared with the Kerrigans, in water cold enough to take your breath. The summer she was eleven, her brother Jem drowned in the shallows. Twenty years later, Liv goes back to mark the anniversary. The house is rented to strangers. The caretaker is a man who was on the shore that night. The police file is missing a page. Her mother's voice, on an old answering machine tape, says a name no one has ever spoken aloud. Everyone knows what happened at Thornmere. Everyone has agreed to know it. A twisty, atmospheric psychological thriller about two families, one lake, and the lie that kept them friends for twenty years.
