The Iron Peace

Six years ago, four houses signed the Iron Peace and stopped a war. Wren Callas's mother brokered it. Now Wren is a first-year cadet at Ironhall, the school the treaty built, and everyone on campus knows whose daughter she is. She's been assigned a training quadril — the same three cadets for her entire first year. Bastian Ivor — heir to the house her mother broke. Kenji Rei — precise, funny, and always one move ahead. Hal Corrin — warm with everyone except the girl who ended his house. Wren wants to graduate quietly. Then she finds the cadet ledger in her mother's handwriting, and the peace treaty was never a treaty. It was a payment plan, renewed every year, one heir per house. This year's roll includes her name. Ironhall enrolls the next class in the spring. Wren intends to be elsewhere.
