The Hollow Witness

Aiden Vega watched his best friend die in the woods behind the water treatment plant. He can tell you the killer's height, his walk, the squeak his shoe made on wet concrete. He cannot tell you the man's face. Aiden has prosopagnosia. Everyone, including his own mother, is a stranger. When the police dismiss his statement, Aiden builds his own investigation — a notebook of recorded voices, cataloged gaits, and one nagging sound he can't place. Two months and four suspects later, the sound is all he has. A pulse-pounding thriller about a boy who can't recognize anyone but learns to read everyone, and the killer who never counted on being heard.
