The Goalie He Broke

Karim Haddad has been traded seven times and never once to the team that drafted him. Until now. Fourteen years ago, Nate Ellery cut him and Benji Soren let him go without saying the thing he should have said. Fourteen years later they're in the same building — a head coach, an equipment manager, and a journeyman goalie on a one-year deal. It should be professional. It lasts four days. There's a storage room with no cameras and a season with no guarantees. Karim's knee is running out and so is everything he's been pretending not to want. He's going to play one more game on his own terms, and then he's going to make both of them say it out loud.
