The Claimed Nurse

Imani Whitfield is a trauma nurse who documents wounds honestly, which is why she's taken off the sidewalk outside her own hospital and delivered to a private surgical suite under a bratva-run hotel. Her captors are a werewolf pack. Their alpha, Silas Kotov, has been dying for a year — a silver round lodged in his back has his wolf healing in reverse, and no vet will touch him. Imani says no. Then she says yes, because there is a man in front of her and a table she could use. The surgery takes nine hours. It works. Now Imani knows the pack exists, and pack law is not ambiguous about that. She stays to keep the wound closed. She stays to train a half-turn assistant. She stays because the bratva capo who shot Silas is his own uncle, and the hotel is the only thing standing between him and the pack. When the silver team comes through the loading dock, Imani is on shift — and she does what she has always done, with the tools she has.
