The Bride He Buried

Sofia Duarte died in a fire four years ago. She has been very much alive, in a fishing town, under another name. She saw the fire set. She has no intention of coming back. Then a letter arrives in her own handwriting — a hand she does not remember writing — with an address in the old city. Aldo has not remarried. Her room is untouched. And in the family crypt is a stone with her name on it, over a coffin with no body in it. He has been expecting her. He has been waiting since the night he buried nothing. A dark gothic capo romance of cold stone, colder ledgers, and a bride who came back only to close the door.
