The Blood He Swore to Shed

Sera Vane burned her oaths and buried her order. Kaelen Drayce is the man who lit the match. Now a dying goddess has bound them together: one of them forges the oath that saves the realm, and the other one bleeds for it. Trapped in a collapsing fortress for a season of dark, they have nothing to do but tell each other the truth. He tells her why he burned the Ash Court. She tells him what the Ash Court did to him first. And somewhere between the second knife and the third confession, hate stops being the loudest thing in the room. But the goddess's cure has a price neither of them will say out loud. When Sera learns the oath must kill the one who holds it, she makes a choice Kaelen never planned for. Some wars are won by two enemies who refuse to let each other die alone.
