The Bakery Back Room

He used to send a man for her money. Then he came himself, and he just wanted a roll. Dunya Vetrova inherited a bakery, a protection bill, and a grandmother's recipe book she cannot read. Kirill Zaitsev is forty-seven, quiet, and not a man who explains. He started coming to her back table in September and has not stopped since. She thinks he is a lonely regular. He is. He is also the reason the collector stopped coming. When two men walk into her lunch rush and call him by a title she has never heard, Dunya has a choice: lock the front door and finally ask, or keep pretending the man at the back table is nobody. She locks the door. The Bakery Back Room is a secret age gap bratva romance about a woman who builds something and the man who makes sure nobody tears it down.
