She Kept the Bar He Built for Somebody Else

Nori Volkov built the Anchor Tap out of her father's bait shack, one plank at a time, and for eleven years she's treated the Black Harbor MC like family. Now she knows what Nikolai was building in his spare afternoons — a second bar, two hours east, on a twenty-year lease, for a woman named Vic who thinks he's a widower. Nikolai doesn't just cheat. He cheats with a realtor's pen. When Nori gets the insurance letter by accident — her home address on his LLC paperwork, for the third year in a row — she doesn't scream, doesn't call her sister, doesn't pour a bottle of his bourbon on his bike. She changes the locks. Then she drives to Vic's bar, orders a seltzer, and tells the truth. This is a story about two women who are done being a spread sheet line item, and about a bar with the wrong man's name on the deed.
