Sabine

Sabine Aliyev's father was a Caspian oil fixer who was shot in a Marseille courtyard when she was nine. She has spent twenty years becoming someone who could walk into the offices of the three men who ordered it and offer them her father's name for sale. Volkov, the pakhan, dying and sentimental. Grigory, his heir, who does not kill women unless he has to. Pyotr, the accountant who gave the order in the first place and would do it again. Sabine wants to be married to one of them, sleeping with another, and on the payroll of all three, and she wants it written down. She builds a smuggling route behind their backs and then offers to hand it over for a signature on a charter. When Grigory learns what she has been skimming, he comes to her flat to kill her. He stays for four days. Volkov dies of his own heart. The organisation gets a new name, and Sabine's name is on it.
