Rider in the Rearview

Toya Larose has driven the same seventy-two-hour route for six years, and for two of them she has waved at the same rider on the same grade outside Flagstaff. She has never learned his name. Then her rig throws a rod outside Kingman and he pulls over and the name is Cass, and Cass has a sidecar he does not use because the club says it looks soft. Toya has a daughter, a custody hearing in eight weeks, and a dispatcher who will only change her route if she asks nicely. Cass has a club that is quietly going broke and no reason left to stay. The plan is practical. It does not stay practical. By Saturday they are dancing badly in a kitchen at six in the morning, and by Sunday a nine-year-old is asking a man on a motorcycle to come to field day. A BWWM biker interracial romance.
