No Crown, No Chain

Two enemies co-regent, one year, one forged document, and no idea who wrote it. Ivetta Crane locked people up for the Ironhold's debts. Teren Vale smuggled them out of the same mines. Now the warden is dead and a dead man's paper says the two of them rule together until the next winter assembly. They agree on nothing — except that whoever tries to make them hate each other is going to be very sorry, very publicly. A dark romantasy of governance, smuggling, and enemies who slowly become the only honest people in the room. When the year is up, they will step down together, saddle two horses, and ride out of Ironhold with no crown and nothing owed.
