Marlowe Rook

The grid is gone, but Marlowe Rook still keeps chickens. She also keeps the peace — as much of it as anyone can after the water wars. When the quartermaster turns up shot in the shared cistern, the fragile settlement starts to crack, and the only person Marlowe would trust with her back is the man who left her two winters ago. Colm Devereaux is back with a repair wagon and a story nobody wants to hear. Somewhere in the black-market medicine ring is a killer, and if Marlowe can't find him before the next new moon, there won't be a neighbourhood left to save. A warm, sharp cozy murder mystery with a post-collapse edge.
