Hunted by the Don

Nika Sokolova has spent two years writing pieces the Bratva keeps asking her to stop writing. She is one source name away from a book deal. She publishes the name. Her editor fires her. Her landlord evicts her. At 4 a.m. a man in a grey coat puts her in the back of a car outside her building, and by dawn she is in a house in Wisconsin with no phone and fourteen days. The man is Lev Antonov. His name has never appeared in a newspaper. His brother is dead because of the source Nika used. He does not want an apology. He wants the other reporter — the one who is still selling secrets to three papers and a rival family. Fourteen days to give him a name. On day five, Nika lies to him. On day six, she runs. On day nine, she finds the truth — and it isn't what either of them wanted.
