His Dearest Rival

Phaedra Voss and Juno Bellamy have argued about wisteria for twenty years. They have never agreed on anything. Now they agree on one thing: neither of them killed Verity Carmichael. Verity, the island's most disagreeable heiress, has been found dead in her conservatory, poisoned with hemlock. Phaedra argued with her the night before. Juno was found in her hedges. To clear themselves, the two rivals have to do the unthinkable — work together. What they find is a fortune meant for a land trust, a forged signature, a housekeeper who has kept silent for forty years, and a son whose company is failing. When Verity's lawyer dies in his own rose arbor, the rivals know the killer is closing in on a house full of secrets. At a garden party of their own devising, Phaedra and Juno split the credit, split the blame, and — just this once — share the truth.
