Her Cold Warlock

Nadia Rinaldi has been a courier for twelve years and has never opened a package. This one is warm, and she is tired, and she has always been curious about the one thing she isn't allowed to know. Inside is a wedding ring. She puts it on for four seconds. The house she was delivering it to opens its own door, and the family that has been waiting three generations for a wife starts counting. Don Salvatore Verga has spent thirty years keeping that ring out of reach, because every woman who has worn it has been fed to the walls to keep his family safe. Nadia has worn it. Nadia would like it noted, in writing, that she was not asked. A dark gothic capo romance of contracts, safe houses, and one woman who read the deed before signing.
