Her Alien Undercover Doctor

Grace Lindqvist has been running the paediatric surgery unit at a public hospital for six years and fighting to keep it open for two of them. The new night anaesthetist is the first competent hire she has had in a decade, and she is not going to ask too many questions about where Jonas Ek trained. Then a child codes on her table, Jonas does something no Earth-trained physician would do, and the child lives. That night Grace finds him in the supply room, bleeding silver, closing the wound with his own hand. She does not call the board. She gives him a week to explain, which becomes six weeks of night shifts and takeaway, which becomes two years of a relationship neither of them can put on any form. Jonas is legally not a person on this planet. Grace's unit is nine days from closure. The only way to save it is for both of them to stand up in front of a health committee and be looked at.
