Heiress of October

Priya Balfour inherits her grandmother's Nantucket compound on one condition: live in it for the whole of October. She arrives to find the caretaker's cottage already occupied. Ronan Kilbride is there on behalf of the family her grandmother financially ruined — cataloging the house, room by room, for a lawsuit. Neither of them can leave. Neither of them will. One wing. One fireplace. A house full of things neither family wants said out loud. And in a locked desk, sixty years of letters that explain everything. It's not just a house. It's the scene of the crime. Some inheritances aren't forgiven. Some get a museum label and a garden wedding.
