Haunting the Innkeeper

Nell Corrigan has run the Harborside Inn on Bainbridge Island for nine years. Eleven rooms are rentable. Room 7 is taken. The Honorable Elias Trask drowned in 1902, has strong opinions about the coffee, and has no intention of checking out. Then a guest is murdered in Room 7 — strangled with the bell pull — and the sheriff decides the inn is a hazard, the ghost is the suspect, and Nell is out of business by Friday. But the dead woman was a genealogist, in town for one reason: to prove that four founding families drowned a man in 1902 to settle a land claim. And Elias has been lying about who he is for a hundred and twenty years. Nell has a guest list, a ghost with a grudge, and until Friday. A horror mystery of island families, bad coffee, and a room that simply will not turn over.
