Gunsmoke Requiem

Harwick Academy: three hundred students, two hundred horses, and a scholarship program that comes out of a syndicate payroll nobody on the board is allowed to read. Reeve Calderón is a scholarship girl with a syndicate name. Adair Vance is the enforcer sent to watch her, enrolled as a stable hand, sleeping in the tack room. When Reeve's roommate drowns in the pool and the death gets ruled an accident, Adair stops reporting to the family that pays her. The list of names is small and on the scout's phone. One of the names is Reeve's father's. Harwick will keep its secrets. Reeve and Adair will not.
