Firebird

Yara Villanueva rebuilt a violin from a house fire and talked her way into the Conservatorio de Sol. Her first year she's a janitor's daughter in a hall of legacies. Her second year they fire her. Her third year she is on the same stage as the men who run it — the conducting fellow, the cellist who gave her away, and the professor who wanted her gone so he could sell her violin's twin to a collector. Yara doesn't expose them. She outplays them. She wins the scholarship, the concertmaster's chair, the competition, and in the third movement has all three of them in her orbit. A fiery rags to romance reverse harem academy romance about a girl who came in last on purpose and left first on merit.
