Claimed at Halcyon Academy

I came to Halcyon Academy to find out why my dead husband's name is on a plaque in the founder's hall. I left a widow, I arrived a first-year, and I am eight years too old to be anybody's mate. On the first night, a legacy student named Soren Blackwood claimed me in front of the entire class. The claiming is illegal. The bond is worse. I didn't sign up for either. I am not taking his money. I am not dropping the challenge. And I am not going to let the family that has been quietly claiming women for a hundred years walk out of a hearing with a slap on the wrist. Soren says he wants to help. His family says he'll be disowned. The academy says I have one semester. Fine. I've got a lawyer, an archive key, and the name of a man they buried here. I've got less than a year to rewrite the charter. I've had longer odds.
