Chasing the Luna's Ghost

Nineteen years ago, this town buried a girl who never died. Rowan Beck was rejected by her fated mate in the little room behind the boathouse and went missing the next day. Everyone assumed the reservoir took her. Her alpha, Sam Raines, has been living with that assumption since he was twenty-one. He should have gone looking. He didn't. Now a river ecologist with a federal grant has arrived to study the reservoir's water quality, and the pack of Grey Harbor has gone very, very quiet, because the ecologist is Rowan, and she is asking the founding families for nineteen years of maintenance records. Sam doesn't ask her for a second chance. He doesn't ask for anything. He just starts waking up to her scent in places she hasn't been, and letting her set the pace the way he didn't the first time. Rowan didn't come back for a mate. She came back for a dam. But she'll take a wolf on her front path at the end of it, if he walks slowly. A rejected mate werewolf second chance romance, autumnal and cold-water honest.
