Breaking the Enforcer

Salt Creek Academy is a boarding school for the children of wealth and the children of the people who move wealth. Kira Alcántara is the second kind. She's there on a family scholarship, riding the best horses on campus, keeping the wrong books like a secret she has to keep breathing. Then a man named Calder Reign shows up as the new groundskeeper. He's twenty-eight, an enforcer for the syndicate that pays her tuition, and she is not supposed to look at him twice. The dean is skimming. There's a courier on campus. There's a fire in the south barn and a copied ledger under a mattress. Kira is about to find out exactly how much her scholarship is worth — and to whom. The rules here were never meant to protect her.
